Curo donates chocolate to help make a Christmas connection
Curo has donated 160 chocolate Santas to Connect Bath to bring some festive cheer to people this holiday.
Connect Bath – formerly Bath Open Christmas – has been supporting residents for the last 30 years by providing events, activities and entertainment to ensure people are not lonely at Christmas.
Run by a small team of enthusiastic volunteers, they provide a freshly cooked festive lunch to anyone who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day, supporting their well-being through conversation, connection and companionship.
The event hosts around 150 people per year, providing Christmas cheer and something to look forward to in the community of Bath. Meals are also provided to Julian House, The Women’s Refuge, other local support agencies and the volunteers.
Lucy, a kitchen helper from last year’s event, said: “Connect Bath creates a great community day to make sure that those living alone are not forgotten.
“It’s the opportunity to give something back and meet volunteers and guests from many different backgrounds.”
Curo Sales Manager, Jodie Winter, said: “We’re so happy to support Connect Bath again this year and assist them in bringing happiness to those facing difficult circumstances.
“We are a business with social objectives, so supporting the communities we work within and partnering with organisations that help local residents is important to us. We admire the work that Connect Bath are doing for people at this time of year and hope everyone has a fantastic time at this year’s Christmas lunch.”
Mulberry Park, Curo’s flagship development located in Combe Down, Bath has benefitted from many community-based initiatives, from a state-of-the-art community building called The Hub to several green spaces. It is part of our commitment as a housebuilder, which is why Century Park, Lawrence Weston and Eaton Park, Yatton were also built with community at the forefront.
