The Willows: 100% affordable housing development

A new scheme of 57 affordable new homes is coming to Lawrence Weston, Bristol. The Willows is a 100% affordable housing development that will include 19 Shared Ownership properties with the rest available to let through Bristol City Council's choice-based letting scheme, HomeChoice.

Four 2-bedroom houses, four 2-bedroom flats, nine 3-bedroom houses, and two 1-bedroom flats will be available as part of the Shared Ownership scheme, helping first-time buyers and those looking to buy low-cost homes to get on the property ladder.

The Willows is located nearby Curo’s existing Lawrence Weston scheme, Century Park. Both developments are part of a plan to deliver much-needed new housing in Lawrence Weston, which has been strongly affected by the housing crisis and is seeing local families priced out of the area.

Many locals have already been introduced to The Willows through Curo’s popular Shared Ownership drop in event which was hosted in Lawrence Weston in February 2022. The event was designed to raise awareness of the Shared Ownership scheme, and help local people understand what was available to them.

Shared Ownership is a scheme that allows buyers to purchase a share – usually between 25% and 75% – of their property and pay low-cost rent on their remaining share. It’s been running for 30 years, helping house buyers who often can’t afford to purchase a home at full market value to get on the property ladder. Most Shared Ownership homes also come with the option to buy additional shares in the property, up to 100%.
